You’ve enrolled. You’ve moved into residence. You’ve got your textbooks. You’ve negotiated up your OSAP. You’ve read every “getting ready for school” book, guide, FAQ, blog and article on the planet. Now you are sitting in your first class (after finding it) and the work is about to begin.
You get handouts and course outlines thrown at you, not to mention a quickly expanding collection of notes (or margin doodles) and you wonder: what the heck do I do with all this ‘stuff’? Somewhere in the mix you need to figure out when to get readings and assignments done, to go to the dentist, to meet with your study group and to find time to sleep and eat (which should be high up in your priorities list). Oh yeah, you also have that social life thing to balance.
So where does a student begin with getting organized and keeping track of life, the Universe and Everything?

Hi everyone! The holidays have arrived! I hope you all enjoy snow because we are getting a lot of it…and the winter season has just started!
Before I have to return to work or before those of you in highschool have to return to class, there are a few things you should do during the holiday break…to really take full advantage of it. Below, I’ve outlined some of them. They’re not in any particular order, although try to guess which one I think is the most important. Here goes:

Hello again! SO this week on the road, I was in Milton, Burlington, Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville! Some of the most popular topics this week were about Theatre, Film, Schulich, Psychology, Education and Law. Oh yes and the strike. So just to clarify, because some of the counsellors were surprised I still went in for a visit today, we will still be out on the road during the strike and many services at York are still available to students! Admissions representatives are still available for assistance, and yes Fall campus Day will still be taking place this Saturday November 8th at Keele and Sunday November 9th at Glendon. continue reading »

Hello again….feels like its been a while since I have posted. I hope your Halloween was great! I would love to hear about the different costumes worn last weekend, drop me a note and let me know!
Well last week and this week I am travelling in and around the GTA. I actually had a visit last week at my former High School
Holy Cross Catholic Academy in Woodbridge. It was so great to see all my old teachers and especially my guidance counsellor, Mrs. Bonfigli. The school hadn’t changed at all, it was just as I remembered it. continue reading »

I got to begin by giving shout outs to St. Jean de Brebeuf in Woodbridge! You all were my largest group and most energetic! Considering there were 300 of you in the presentation, it was so interactive and funny. It was nice seeing my “Schulich Boys” again after the OUF. Remember, what we promised after you graduate?! continue reading »

So this week on the road was re-donk-u-lous. I think this means ridiculous?
So many students were out and all over the place. I think this means that the University bug is out and in full force! ie. Decision making time. continue reading »

Hi bloggers! Hope you’re all doing well! Another week has gone by (I can’t believe how quickly time passes) and I spent it waking before sunrise in order to make it to Oakville, Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga from my warm bed in Scarborough. Although I’ve been living in Toronto most of my cognisant life, I haven’t really had an opportunity to visit these areas of the GTA, so this was a nice change of pace. continue reading »
